Update 8-4-2022 – NRMA have announced that the NRMA EV charging app is coming. NRMA say we will need the app to use NRMA EV chargers. I think it will be good if NRMA charge us to use their NRMA EV chargers as that will help maintain and grow the network. I have found the NRMA charging network invaluable in giving me increased confidence on country roads in regional and rural areas of NSW. I have used NRMA Chargers in Sydney, Jugiong, Holbrook, Wagga Wagga, Young, Cowra and Cobar and my experience is they have always worked for me and been reliable.
12-10-2021 – Today was the first time I had used an NRMA charger. The charger at Olympic park was very easy to use. Just plug in and press start! Charging is free at present, but I’m remaining an NRMA member in case that changes. I started at 21%, the charger ran at 35kW.
Just be cautious at this site, as the charger is positioned towards the front of the parking space and the length of the CCS lead means for rear charging Teslas, you need to be quite forward in the car spot. I had two cars park in the next spot in front of me and had to stop each before they reversed too far and hit me.
