Tesla flat rates at 7 September 2026 ranged from 27c-49c/kWh or $5.40-$9.80/100km. Tesla ToU rates were 20c-63c/kWh or $4.00-$12.60/100km
Charging my EV at public Tesla Superchargers, at the median flat rate price of 48c/kWh is $9.60 per 100km
Supercharger locations open to non Tesla vehicles are shown in the Tesla app. Activation of a Supercharger for non Tesla is by using the app.
A Supercharger Membership for non Tesla vehicles is $9.99 mth and gives non Tesla vehicles same prices as Tesla vehicles. Some Superchargers have tap to pay credit card terminals. If you use tap to pay it will be at non Tesla prices. Some more info for non Teslas is here.
AC public charging rates vary, from free, at sites such as those for visiting customers, guests, staff etc to many of the pole chargers being at around 50c. Generally the AC charging I use ranges from 0c-50c or $0.00-$10.00/100km.
The rate/100km is based on 20kWh/100km. My EV sedan only uses 15kWh/100km but larger SUV type EVs use a bit more, also if charging at a DC charger a little extra energy is consumed by the charger, or car itself during charging or when parked, so I have used 20kWh to allow for those extras.
My real full charging cost, using a variety of public chargers, for my trip to Townsville from Sydney 4,849km return, was $7.35 per 100km, ($356.35).
