I use AC destination EV chargers when I am parked for a meal, work, shops, beach, park or library etc or at my accommodation. My Tesla 3LR accepts a rate of 11kW per hour of AC, so, my EV tops up with 22kWh from 50% to 80% in 2 hours.
AC public charging rates vary, from free, at sites such as those for visiting customers, guests, staff etc to many of the pole chargers being at around 50c. Generally the AC charging I use ranges from 0c-50c or $0.00-$10.00/100km.
The 7 largest EV charging networks in Australia, with the most AC Type 2 charging locations, are Chargefox, Exploren, Tesla, AGL, EVX, EVUp and Everty.
Over the past 4 yrs 11 mths and 114,757 kms, I’ve used lots of AC charging networks across NSW, Vic and Qld.
My EV lifetime charging has been 55% AC charges and 45% DC charges, over the 114,757 kms I've travelled.
Type 2 Cable
I carry and use a 22kw 32A 3Phase Type 2 Cable. There are different strengths of cable, 7kw or 22 kw. For Tesla you need the 22 kw 32A 3Phase cable.
