6 EV charging Apps I use regularly are PlugShare, Tesla, Chargefox, Evie, Jolt and Exploren. The other apps I use when travelling throughout NSW and interstate.
EV charging apps enable you to locate and activate each remote charging device, pay for your charging and provide a range of information on the charging experience in your account, including both kWh used and billing history.

- AGL EV Charging App is available on Apple and Android. AGL EV Charging points are AC pole mounted and instructions on the charger are to activate with either App or RFID. You can ask them to send you an RFID card, or add your own RFID card by visiting an AGL charge point and following the instructions in the App. As of March 2025 AGL sites are in NSW. The AGL EV Charging website is agl.com.au/evcharging AGL also acquired Everty, in 23-1-2025 which will continue to operate as a separate brand.
- Ampol AmpCharge EV Charging App from Apple and Android AmpCharge website is https://ampcharge.ampol.com.au The Ampcharge EV network has DC charger sites in several states. Ampcharge is a brand of Ampol Ltd
- Alchemy Charge EV Charging App on Apple and Android. Their AC network provides replacement 10A power points which have internet capability through wifi or 4G linked to their billing platform. Alchemy Charge Pty Ltd website shows sites in Qld, NSW, Vic, Tas and WA as of March 2025.

Charge Away, launched late 2024, are providing Peer to Peer EV charging, so people with EV chargers can charge other EV drivers to use them. Sites in SA and Vic as of March 2025. - Chargebay EV Charging App from Apple or Android for their EV chargers. At Feb 2025, they seem to have sites in Vic and NSW, one charger on their app is at Moama bowling club. Chargebay Pty Ltd website is https://chargebay.com.au
- Chargefox EV Charging App from Apple or Android that provides location and access to their EV charging network of DC and AC chargers. Chargefox Pty Ltd website is at https://www.chargefox.com/ Chargefox also provide an RFID card, or you can add your own, through their app.

- Charge N Go Australia EV Charging App, Apple or Android for their own branded EV charger network of DC & AC chargers and their app shows some other networks’ chargers too. Charge N Go Australia and Smart Charge both use the same app and back end software, Saascharge Inc. So a Smart Charge App and Smart Charge RFID may be used on some Charge N Go chargers where the charger owner has opted in to Saascharge’s roaming option. - Elu EV Charging App is a new network starting up for AC and DC EV charging. Elu Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of Lumen Energy Australia Pty Ltd. As of march 2025 their sites are in Qld https://elu.net.au/elu-network/ apps are on Apple and Android .
- Enevi EV Charging App on Apple and Android . Enevi have AC charger sites in NSW & Qld as of March 2025. You can add your own RFID card to the Enevi App. The Enevi Pty Ltd website is https://www.enevi.com.au
- Everty EV Charging App, on Apple or Android. As of March 2025 the app is showing sites of DC & AC electric vehicle chargers in all states and ACT and NT. https://everty.com.au Everty also provide an RFID card. AGL Energy Limited acquired Everty Pty Ltd on 23 January 2025 and indicated they would continue with the Everty brand.
- Evie EV Charging App is on Apple or Android and gives location and access to Evie Networks DC & AC electric vehicle charging network which is in all states and the ACT and NT https://goevie.com.au/ Evie provide an Autocharge capability which allows you to plug in and the charger recognises your car and starts charging. - Exploren EV Charging App, Apple or Android for location and access to the Exploren DC & AC electric vehicle charging network which is in all states and the ACT and NT. - Ivygo is offering a Peer to Peer EV charging network service so people with EV chargers can charge other EV drivers to use them. Ivygo has sites in NSW as of March 2025. An App is on Apple and Android. Ivygo Pty Ltd website is at https://www.ivygo.com.au/about
- Jolt EV Charging App, Apple or Android for location and access to the Jolt Charge Pty Ltd EV charging network DC chargers. As of March 2025 sites are in Qld, NSW, Vic and SA. https://jolt.com.au/ .
- Noodoe EV Charging App from Apple and Android Noodoe are starting providing a network of DC & AC EV chargers, in Qld, NSW, Vic and WA. and website is https://www.noodoe.com.au/meet-noodoe The Australian arm of this global company is Noodoe Pty Ltd. The website says it provides several EV charging service providers (CSPs) with software, (Noodoe EV OS) and hardware, (Noodoe EV charging stations). They include AXCharge, Easy EV, and RegenEV. Charge Boss also works with Noodoe, as a partner and distributor of Noodoe EV chargers in Australia.
- NRG Charge EV charging app on Apple and Android by the NRG company by NRG Technologies Pty Ltd. As of March 2025 NRG has sites in NSW https://theNRGcompany.com.au
- NRMA EV Charging App Apple or Android is for NRMA EV charging network DC and AC chargers. - Origin 360 EV Charge app by Origin Energy (Apple or Android) from Origin Energy for public EV chargers – currently showing some public Origin Chargers, which you can use the app to pay for after adding your credit card and also Jolt chargers and other partner chargers. It appears that to use the Jolt chargers you need to register through Origin website, link below, but it says that registration is only available to eligible Origin 360 EV customers and anyone with an active Origin electricity account. The charging cost for those partner chargers is then added to your existing Origin electricity account. - OTR EV EV Charging App on Apple and Android OTR EV provide DC charging. As os March 2025 their sites are in SA. - SolarHub Charge EV Charging App from Apple or Android charging network is in ACT and the South Coast of NSW. SolarHub Pty Ltd AC chargers website is

The instructions to add your own RFID card are in their app. - Sonic Charge EV chargers use a QR code to take you to a web portal to pay, not an app. As of March 2025, Sonic Charge have DC sites in WA and AC sites in NSW. - Tesla EV Charging App is on Apple and Android There are over 110 Tesla Supercharger DC locations around Australia and several hundred AC charge points. Tesla has opened several of its sites for use by non Tesla vehicles. A 9.99 mth membership plan enables non Teslas to have the same rates as Teslas. - Wevolt EV Charging App is on Apple or Android. Wevolt entered the market in 2023, with its network of Wevolt Pty Ltd DC & AC chargers. Wevolt also provides Peer to Peer EV charging services so owners of EV chargers can let other drivers use them. Wevolt offer an RFID Card or you can add your own to their app. Website is https://wevolt.com.au/ Wevolt also provides a skin and software back end for the Kugacharge app.
PlugShare app is a key app as it shows locations of EV charging networks listed above, non networked chargers and home chargers, reviews on their status and a trip planning function. Download PlugShare from Apple or Google Play. PlugShare is owned by EVGo Inc.
PlugShare also provides a single payment portal called Pay With PlugShare, which EV charging networks can join if they wish https://help.plugshare.com/hc/en-us/articles/7678161142035-Get-started-Pay-with-PlugShare I am not aware of any Australian networks joining Pay With PlugShare yet or what fees are involved to join. Australian EV networks currently choose to retail direct to their customers through app, RFID, credit card reader or QR code.

For many of the AC chargers, you will need to take your own Type 2 22kW cable, available from Tesla or most ev charging suppliers.

- Charge@Large App is a locator app launched in 2025 by the Electric Vehicle Council of Australia Limited. At March 2025 the app shows the locations of chargers from 4 of the EV charging networks. - Chargehound is a Peer to Peer EV charging service announced by Parkhound to list and charge out to others your home EV charger and parking space. Currently they have an Apple app that allows you to filter their parking space search for EV charging and book and pay for parking spaces . - ChargeBoss are a provider of ev chargers and software in Australia. They don’t have an app but have a payment gateway. - Charge Star Charge Star on its website says it was founded in December 2009 as E-Station, and that Charge Star is Australia’s oldest charging station supplier. - Electrona EV chargers, first installed at Bicheno Tasmania, allow you to pay by credit card. - EO EV Charging App for EV charging using their AC EV charger network. From 10 Jan 2025, the EO App no longer shows their old charging network in Australia, as EO, a British company, has discontinued app access to all gen 1 chargers and is moving to support only newer gen 2 OCPP compliant chargers. - Flow Power Highway has been announced by Gridserve as a partnership with Flow Power to install DC charging in Australia called The Flow Power Highway. The partnership will see the companies deliver an Australia-wide public network of ultra-fast EV chargers commencing in 2025.
Gridserve says it is a Gigatons Group company. Gridserve app on Google and Apple, not yet in Australia. - Linga Networks was a provider of electric vehicle charging in regional areas of Vic at Nhill and Rainbow but I noticed in July 2023 their website had closed down. The AC chargers they installed in Western Vic are still installed and listed on PlugShare. Company name Linga Network Pty Ltd.

- Sasscharge is a white label ev charging services platform that allows anyone to establish an ev charging network. Several EV charging brands above use a back end of Saascharge platform/data and Saascharge developed apps. - Seavolt is a network that plans to providing DC & AC chargers at Marinas for both boats and vehicles. Seavolt invites you to sign up via their website and they will send an RFID card. Seavolt app is not released yet. Website is at https://www.seavolt.io/

RFID Cards for EV Charging in Australia
Some EV charging networks offer RFID cards for EV Charging, or let you add your own RFID card, which is great, as you can keep them in your car and use them to activate the charger without your phone.
15 EV Networks let you add your own RFID card or tag for charging
♦ AGL, BP Pulse, Chargefox, Elanga, Everty, Evie, Exploren, Wevolt and Thundergrid Australia have their own RFID cards but also allow you to add your own RFID card or tag number.
♦ Autel, Enevi, EVX and SolarHub don’t have their own RFID card but allow you to add your own RFID card in their app.
♦ NRMA let you use any RFID card, linked to your Chargefox account, to charge your EV.
3 EV Networks only let you use the RFID card they issue you
♦ Charge Hub, Smart Charge and Seavolt use only the RFID card they issue you.
EV Networks that don’t yet provide a RFID card or option to add one
