Professor John D Kelly EV Technology Videos Weber State University

Tesla designed their model 3 from the ground up and it embodies some groundbreaking technology.

Professor John D Kelly of Weber State University in the USA has some great videos on its WeberAuto YouTube channel explaining the Tesla technology and other EV technology in clear terms with clear video of the unique parts of the car.

For example the Heat Pump video has a great explanation of the way Teslas capture heat from moving parts and other components that generate heat during normal operation. They also generate heat for warming cabin or battery by operating electrical components in lossy mode. Lossy mode is used to generate heat in the AC compressor motor, blower motor, drive motor inverters and drive unit stator windings, which is then carried through the coolant system, rather than an electric heater which some other EVs do. https://youtu.be/Dujr3DRkpDU
